I would definitely add in credits for Dr. Faisal, of Pets and Vets in Islamabad. Him and his partner, Dr. Kamran, are wonderful with the animals. So many times they’ve helped my felines, and everytime I’ve been more than gracious to them.
In another note, Dr. Rana disappointed me quite many a times. But, then maybe it was an experience. But yeah, Dr. Faisal, I take my felines to. =)
can any one recommend me a dr for surgeries. My dog got poisoned. apparently the poison thing got cured but the dog has a watery belly now. want to get removed this water from his stomach asap else it may affect his kidneys and lungs.

We are based in Karachi, and there aren’t any clinics here that have the kind of facilities that clinics in North America have. Lahore and Faisalabad have large veterinary universities with many great practicing veterinarians. Islamabad has good vets too. And as far as we know, there are no 24 hour emergency centers for pets in Karachi yet. Some of the vets in our list have 24rs listed in front of their names… have a look. It’s generally better to be in touch with a veterinarian and establish a relationship with him/her, so that you have someone to call in case of an emergency.

Nancy, the only animal shelter in Karachi is that of the Edhi Foundation off the superhighway on the outskirts of the city. It’s on four acres, with a handful of cats, dogs, birds and donkeys. A video of it is online here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2369953176340456463&hl=en
There are no animal shelters or any kind of humane society for animals in Islamabad.

there r no proper vets in lahore at all…there was one but he died …..after that i dont trust anyone….they treat pets as if they r not alive…..they dont keep the place clean they dont use disposable instruments they dnt have sufficient equipments n are all money minded…..we need really good vets in lahore who became vets for the love of animals rather than failing the examz….i need 2 get my cats neutered and spayed! sooo please whoever got his degree from abroad with good amount of time practisng plzzz open a clinic in lahore …v need u!

Having lived around the world with my pets, it is extremely important to have the best in veterinarian facilities available for peace of mind.
<ay I suggest the KDA area of Karachi. Most vets seems othave practices in Clifton or Defense, and those of us living in the KDA region have very limited access to veterinarian care unless we travel 30 – 45 minutes. During this time a beloved pet could pass away. It would alos be wonderful if the vet clinic could provide the good pet food _ Science Diet, Hills Kd, Ld, etc diets for both cats and dogs.
Please let us know when you are coming and when your clinic would be operational.

If anyone ask any pet owner who is best vet in karachi, there is only 2 clinics PIRZADA PETS CLINC and Dr Asma clinic, other all are non experience vet and not know much, not even 10% if compare with that 2 clinics.

I think this site owner must check it before publish and surprise to see DR JAVIAD name, he is not vet better first conform it then mention name and Pakistan first pet practitioner who start dog and cats treatment is DR. M. H. PIrzada and he is practicing since 1964 and his name not mention in vet.

hi i have poodle female.she is one year old recently she has been mated.(may be she is pregnanat)she has kennel cough so whats medcines are save for her or what should i use for her.

@ Alex take her to vet asap………. poodle are prone to dystochia and sometimes need C section- she need abd. xrays if its past 45 days . Kennel cough has risks of pneumonia too so need to have antibiotics asap…… may sure she should be vaccinated twice a yr…this is killed vaccine- can be given during pregnancy once she recovers from infective stage . best wishes/ take good care of her( add vitamins/ puppy food for routine nutrition)

i took my cat to a vet.. according to him my cat has some infection in his bladder.. he gave him tow injections and prescribed 1/2 Tablet of Bascopan in the morning and 1/2 at night and Multi-Vitamin Drops ..now im hoping he will be fine in a few days.. he is urinating in his litter box since two days and due to the injection he seems a little slow and not eating anything since last night but i gave him some milk by force..

Dear Doctor, i have a Persian male Cat age-approx. 1yr 7months old is not able to pass his urine and stool about 3days, and having swelling in abdomen in downside. and he got 2 balls in the left and right both sides there. His lips are also swelling. n having much pain but naturally he is an innocent cat never hurts any other pets around him.
Nothing eating and drinking.
last night a doctor suggested to give: Syrup Citralka, and Tab. Urinix but still not recovering.

Inshal, please take your cat to a veterinary doctor ASAP. Your cat is probably in a lot of pain, and is in a very serious condition. What city are you in? Call any vet and go over first thing in the morning. Meanwhile, you can also call or SMS Dr. Otho (0321 247 1053) and tell him your cat’s symptoms. If you’re in Karachi, you can take your cat to him or ask him to do a house call.

Sorry to hear your cat is missing, Hina. We hope he turns up soon. Sometimes cats just wander off for a few days but then come back. You could post his photo on our facebook page – maybe someone would have seen him? Perhaps your friends near your old house could make some lost cat flyers and put them up around the neighbourhood?

I need your help. I found a kitten that was thrown out of a house in my area last week when it was raining heavily. That guy was kicking and throwing her up in the air and in water. I just grabbed her and brought her my home. ( its a wild kitten no breed),
I kept her at a safe place as she was scared. She kept on sleeping for 2 days in a position with no movement and only her eyes were blinking a bit. I took her to a doctor when i saw her swelled eyes and he told me that she has got very high fever. Doc gave her a shot and told me to give her panadol liquid 4 times a day and feed her with egg (without yolk).
I did it for last 2 days and now she does tries to walk.. but her body is not responding well she cant walk properly her head is continuously shaking alot. but she yells on top of her voice for food.
Due to the situation of our city am unable to take her to a doctor nearby. I will appreciate any help for that poor lil kitten. I dont wanna see her die atleast.

my cat had develoved in last 3 month some blackish thgs on back of her ears that made her hair fall…i dt think its kind of insects bt im no expert …its nt transfering to me and it looks more like gun powder (best description i can think off) its like concentratuing on a portion of his head and after while hair falls.i try cleen it with spirt(medical alcohool) and put haldi and some creams4 skin infections and fungus but nthg worked..the black spots somehow look like migrated near the place i cleen.basically it just migrated from ears to neck now…twice i repeated the cleening process.i have a veterinary i visited few times since im here but im nt plesased with his knowledge,im even worried if hes real vet bc i did mentioned him abt some blackish thg on my babi ears in beggining of the backish appearance but he didnt even take a look @it.he said dt worry its nthg .last visit on vet it was2 much traumatic 4 my cat i cant take it this time4 vet…does anyone have any ideea whts going on or wht treatment shoudl i use?im so scared my babi might have pain fever or smthg worse bc of this blackish thgs:( he acts normally nthg out of ordinarry but im sure hes nt happy from this thg.plz help!

How does one stop spraying in a multi-cat household?
We keep three females and three males (all fixed) but they just don’t stop spraying. We’ve taken them to the vets (who prescribed anti-anxiety treatment), I’ve read up enough on the internet (ways to remove the stink so that they don’t spray on the same spot again/also shopped for sprays that supposedly work) but nothing seems to work.
They are otherwise healthy and loving cats and we just can’t imagine a life without any of them!

Hi Doc. I ‘ve found a male adult cat with his left front paw seriously injured. He is lying in my porch since last night. @ Zahida: use frontline spray on bothh of your cats. it will stop the hair fall. and before that you can give your kitten a bath with konaz lotion. it helps a lot.
@Nazia: you can call Dr pirzada’s clinic to ask for a home visit or any other vet who can come to your house. your cats need to be vaccinated, otherwise they will get sick very easily.

@ Sana Khan…. u are Rite he is really a Good vet as he’z not a qualified Dr. but batter then others qualified Dr. els Dr Asma Gheewala is also a Good Dr. she can operate any dog surgery, that normally others dr, cant do ! All i can suggest always go for 1vet for ur dog coz every dr have there own diagnoses way and treatment ! 2 or 3 together can harm ur dog to death !
My kids were took a kitten of age about two or three weeks which was very sick.My wife give special care for this cat and now she is almost one year old. But suddenly last week she started crying loudly in a new sounds and doing new things.I asked an animal doctor in karachi and he told that your cat is in heat and you have to pay 650 rupees after each four to six months to avoid this heat cycle.

Hi, I’m looking for a vet who also checks up on turtles. I have a 1 inch big baby red ear slider that has developed infection in its mouth and head. I’m applying povidone-iodine solution at least four times a day and keeping it in a shoebox atop a hankerchief (all the time) and in water (for 1 hour everyday) near sunlight. It hasn’t been able to eat anything in about a week and only shows activeness near sunlight and water (not necessarily in water). Otherwise it just sleeps. I gave it koi pallets when it was healthy but since its mouth is too swollen it can’t eat anything and I’m afraid of meshing up its food for it in case it ends up choking (aside from the fact I have no idea how I’m gonna make him eat the meshed up pallets). Any ideas what I can do about its nutrition?

Fawad, please have a vet check your kitten soon, as it may be an eye infection. Those can get very serious and the kitten can end up losing its eyes if it has herpes virus. You can feed kittens boiled keema with rice, or boiled chicken (without bones).

I would like to know if there is any facility, where dogs can be admitted and treated, since I have a female Lab, and she has developed a skin problem, which has stopped her hair from growing back, which needs continuous treatment and attention and I cannot give her that due to my busy schedule. I feel what is needed most urgently are shelters for homeless animals. Animals often adopt my house because they are not mistreated, are often fed and watered, but I cannot keep them. They just decide to park themselves and I do not find it easy to chase them out. It is so difficult to get help in finding homes & shelter. I wish most vets would at least keep phone numbers of shelters that they could give people and help find homes. This would be such a great service. Also, there are people who might be willing to pay for the feeding of a dog or cat at the shelters, but may be unable to look after the animal themselves. That too would be a great support to shelters & should be tried.

is a genuine vet I took my sick rabbit to him last week and there was no Dr Vighio only some Dr Pirzada was here and he misdiagnosed the disease as a simple wound as it was some rabbit bacterial infection, so please dont go to him he seems quack to me. Respects to the founders. Not easy to settle in it is, the fact that this page and PAWS really didn’t find the place it deserved. Even being undergraduate veterinary doctor I hit this page randomly. I have a female cat ( 6 months old ). Its been a week that a male stray cat has been visiting and following my cat, oftenly even peeping inside through the window. Tonight when my cat was playing in the garden suddenly I heard cat hissing and growling noises. I ran out to find out whats happening and it was my cat fighting with the same stray cat. The stray ran away but the problem is that my cat has some scratches and teeth marks on her back and she shivers while walking, infact she walks very stiffly. She has become really non responsive and is neither drinking nor eating. She doesn’t even let me hold her and if do so she howls in a really strange way and seems like her throat is also messed up. She is only sleeping or staring all around like she’s in a great shock. Please advice me and tell me what to do. When will she be active once again.
